1. Describe the product and target market
Share the contents, storage conditions and destination markets. Include any documentation requested by your purchasing or quality team.
2. Define capacity and filling conditions
State the target fill volume or weight and available headspace. Tell the supplier about the filling method, fill temperature and production-line constraints.
3. Choose the development route
An existing mold can provide a starting platform. A new mold can support a different shape or geometry. Ask for separate quotations for tooling, samples and production.
4. Coordinate the neck, cap and seal
Specify preferred closure style, opening experience and sealing method. Bottle and cap dimensions must be reviewed together.
5. Share the visual direction
Provide color references, label artwork and preferred decoration. Confirm printable or labelable areas using the selected bottle drawing.
6. State quantity and timing
Provide the first-order quantity, expected repeat demand and launch target. Minimum order quantity and lead time depend on the selected format and customization.
7. Agree the approval record
Confirm samples, drawings, material specification and inspection requirements before production. Keep the signed specification available for repeat orders.
